Back from my first-ever trip to Montana, where I was impressed by everything from the landscape to the lawlessness (relative to here in the Northeast at least). The Big Sky Film Festival was really amazing and the folks there were kind enough to put me up at a small, clean hotel for part of the trip. There was a hearse parked outside and a swimming pool inside of a kind of greenhouse behind a McDonald’s drive-thru. It’s a great feeling just being out there in your bathing suit, swimming a couple of laps, a freight train passing through the snowy mountains on one side and people ordering off the dollar menu on the other, to say the least. I also got to eat Bison for the first time (not at McDonald’s).
